Betica is an independent, employee-led engineering practice. Headquartered in Hong Kong, with an engineering hub in the Philippines and a European coverage node. We work with organisations whose software has to hold up under real scrutiny — technical, operational, and commercial.
If it isn't documented, traceable and reproducible, it didn't happen. This is how we work internally before we ever ship it to a client.
Verification and delivery are kept under separate accountability — by policy, not by accident. Independence is what makes the evidence credible.
We choose boring, well-understood technology where the stakes demand it. Novelty is a debt that external scrutiny eventually collects on.
The people who sign off on your work can read your code, your CI pipeline and your threat model — not just your policy binder.
Our Hong Kong office handles client operations, contracting, and the assessor-facing side of the work. Being in HK puts us in the same timezone and language as most of the region's regulators and enterprise buyers, and inside the reach of the cross-border data and financial regimes that connect Asia to Europe.
Our engineering hub in the Philippines is where most of the code is written. English-native, deep in software talent, and on the same GMT+8 clock — which means one continuous working day between HK and PH, and no handoff seams to explain to an auditor.
Our EU node gives us coverage, regulatory proximity, and on-call presence for European clients and frameworks. It also lets us extend the working day across timezones when a project needs it. Every contributor works under the same evidence discipline, regardless of where they sit.
